PART ONE - TALLRIK

A plate fell on the kitchen floor. I didn’t think about the consequences of using only one hand to hold the construction. I couldn’t throw it away. I put it on my desk instead. I destroyed something that wasn’t mine. They claimed not to have the money to buy another one but yet they did. I was joking that maybe I have to move out before another thing breaks. Eventually, it did, and not long after that, I moved out. I was becoming more attached to the plate but I was still unsure if I was the owner. Maybe I destroyed it for the purpose - to own it. I scanned my plate and it appeared on a computer. After one day I had the same plate from plastic. The break was there. When I was a teenager, my cousin and his wife went to a dinner party. I remember they told me that one woman there was like me. She called all her home equipment by name, although I don’t call my home equipment by name. It was the first cup I bought here. I put it in the sink. There was still a little bit of tea inside. After the accident, I have never washed it away.

PART TWO - ANOTHER THING

There was a big shelf in the yellow room and I felt that I could use it. The cupboards in the kitchen in the house where I still lived, had the same color. The things I was placing here used to belong to a kitchen as well. It didn’t matter that it was a different kitchen. There was my broken plate among the other things and my broken cup, there were two portraits of the plate and two portraits of the cup. There was documentation of their fall and documentation of other things that I liked. Usually, they sat on my windowsill. Some of them were gifts, some I made on purpose some by accident. Sometimes I tried to decide which one should go to the trash.

PART THREE - STILL LIFE

I've been trying to fix all the broken pieces, gluing them together so the new image can contain the previous stories they held. I made a frame but fell behind behind, leaving the pieces lying on the side of my studio for too long.

PART FOUR - SETTLE

I created four paintings using pieces from previous works and materials from an earlier exhibition. I completed these just before moving out of my old studio, fearing that the pieces might get lost during the move. Although I don’t enjoy sewing, this project was a bit tiring as it required a different kind of interaction than simply using a brush. These paintings are not just for viewing; they invite you to touch their threads, pins, and needles. They are quite fragile and are built from items that were once intact but became damaged. The materials used are ceramic and plastic. Placed in a room that no longer exists, these works reflect my search for a new home.
